I rented the DVD for the movie Avatar the other day. Without all the 3D magic, I was able to pay attention to the story.
If you haven’t seen the movie: It’s about a soldier, who is in a wheelchair, and then taking the place of his brother, who was supposed to travel to the planet of Pandora, where humans are mining in the territory of the Pandorans, to interact with the natives using an avatar, a body that looks like one of them.
Now, according to the directions in the screenplay, Pandorans are a spiritual people – very in sync with their surrounding nature. Their world was not filmed on location. Pandorans and their world, down to their sacred tree of souls, were created in computers, which are powered somewhere here on earth. Possibly the computers got their electricity from coal, or nuclear energy. One thing is certain: it was natural science all the way.
Who knows, if it was real, Pandora might be another investment opportunity. A place where there is nothing to gain – no growth, only exploitation, but we can conjure up that owning a piece of Pandora is a priceless thing.
On Pandora, with the spiritual species, you can’t be accepted for who you are. You have to be your avatar. It’s you, basically, but you look different; blue, tall, and skinny. They take your brain activity and put it into this new form. The real you can not even breathe in this new environment.
Only if the Gods allow it, you can stop being yourself. The spirits turn the lie of the avatar into a truth by permanently transferring your consciousness into the blue body.
Pandorans have a saying, I see you. For us humans, it’s hard to understand, but apparently seeing is something deep and spiritual on Pandora. You’d think it was somewhat superficial to see someone.
What is bigger than you is what they dictate. Everything is deep and spiritual, if it says so in the script. Don’t be so negative – accept the spirituality. Surely you are not suggesting your will and your scientific ideas are bigger than the scripted spirituality.
What’s with the ego?! Bow to the mighty placebo! I see you.
